It doesn't make any difference, the problems I encountered were due to software glitches, bugs or whatever they are called, but now the system seems to allow me to press enter for brake test results and scroll to the bottom and press edit, then I can enter new results.

It seems to work OK now. :)

So what is the best way, remove the advisories first then issue nice new failure?

It wouldn't let me fail an item I had already advised when I changed my mind on a close call last week.

Would that make any difference?

Best practice was to pass and advise said DVSA, so a couple of areas I have now come across.

1 / A vehicle tested on COMP II had brake efficiency that only just met the minimum criteria of 50 and 16%.

2 / A tyre was measured at 1.65 mm.

The vehicle failed on other defects, the presenter was given the fail/advisory information, took the vehicle away and brought it back within 10 working days.

I checked the items and the tyre was very much 1.6000 mm, the brake efforts had declined further, they could not meet the minimum criteria, so I recorded the results but when I tried to enter them into COMP II, COMP II was having none of it, the initial test had passed and I could not amend the record to reflect the latest results.

I hope they don't make anymore staff redundant at DVSA ;), they will run out of staff to keep replying to my emails advising them of all the glitches and problems :D:D:D

It's not the trade that need consultants, it's DVSA that need them to liaise with the trade on their behalf :D, I told them they weren't ready :D

Testing is not a job, it's an adventure :D
